In a society where zombies (known as “living-impaired”) roam among us, with no cannibalistic tendencies, the imposing shadow of the Coleman Corporation looms over a city. They offer a retirement plan for the living-impaired, promising to conduct research about them by collecting decomposing family members from their homes. Through these collections, a trio of friends infiltrate Coleman’s network to recover the zombies and sell them on their own. Everything seems to be working fine until their grandmother is kidnapped. To pay the ransom, they have to accept assigments that could prove rather dangerous, especially in a society where everything has gone wrong.
Roadkill Superstars, the enfants terribles of Fantasia, are back! And they're treating the audience that has been with them from the get-go to the long-awaited world premiere of their third feature film. After creating a veritable cult around TURBO KID and visiting the dark side of SUMMER OF 84, Anouk, Yoann-Karl, and François are back in force with their crazy and unique vision of the zombie comedy. Based on the comic LES ZOMBIES QUI ONT MANGÉ LE MONDE (Les Humanoïdes associés), RKSS have also penned the script, infusing this universe with their own flavour and breathing fresh life into the genre. It's got everything you love about their work: colourful characters, grotesque, cartoonish gore, and a healthy dose of black humour.
The film stars a potent trio who humanize this insane world: Megan Peta Hill (RIVERDALE, THE FLASH), Alexandre Nachi (1991, FABULEUSES) and Derek Johns (THE BOYS, THE WOLF AND THE LION). Also on board are several invaluable, recurring contributors to the RKSS universe, including Jean-Philippe Bernier, handling the cinematography, as well as the soundtrack with his duo Le Matos, who once again set the tempo for the film with their retro-influenced electro music. As always with Roadkill Superstars at Fantasia, this event promises to be a riotous affair, with a film tailor-made for the festival's audience.
