AKARI is a reimagining of the kaiju vs. superheroine genre for a global audience — while honouring the authentic tokusatsu style of filmmaking. Created by ULTRAMAN director Yagi Takeshi with partners from Naro.tv, it was initially designed to demonstrate how tokusatsu films are made (part of Yagi's masterclass with Naro). However, AKARI evolved into this teaser showing Akari’s showdown with “retro” kaiju Pythagodon, an AI-biological hybrid originally designed to defend its home city, who has suddenly and mysteriously gone berserk…
