When Binou the kitten accidentally soils his favourite toy, Mister Mou, Toupie the mouse (Marc Labrèche) calls on Dorothée (Anne Dorval), a cow living in a magic lamp, to get rid of the stain. But due to a misunderstanding, the toy disappears. Toupie, Binou, and Dorothée have to travel to the World of Lost Objects to find the precious stuffed animal. In the course of their adventure, the trio meet the twin seagull Jacques-Henri (Xavier Dolan) and Jean-Jacques (Stéphane Rousseau), who are looking for their daddy, and the mare Magnifique Princesse (Geneviève Schmidt), whose dance partner has disappeared.
Created by Dominique Jolin, TOUPIE ET BINOU began life as a series of children's books, then went on to become a TV cartoon with dozens episodes watched by millions of people. Websites, a YouTube channel, merchandising, and even a touring show followed. Now comes the first feature film starring the popular characters, TOUPIE ET BINOU - LE FILM! Jolin and her co-writer/co-director Raymond Lebrun use the chance to make their universe richer and more vibrant than ever, with a feature-length animated film that is particularly colourful and bright, funny and rhythmic, imaginative and astonishing. Young and old are invited to the red-carpet premiere of TOUPIE ET BINOU - LE FILM at Fantasia, in the presence of the filmmakers, members of the technical team, and the actors who voiced the film, including Marc Labrèche, Anne Dorval, Xavier Dolan, Stéphane Rousseau, and Geneviève Schmidt. Giant mascots of the film's main characters will also be on hand. A not-to-be-missed event for the whole family! – Translation: Rupert Bottenberg
